About Assoc. Dr. Ali Y lmaz
He graduated from Department of Geology of Ankara University in 1970 and began working at the Department of Geological Researches of MTA, in 1971 and worked on the realization of various projects as project worker and manager. He worked also in executive and scientific committees of Geological Society Bulletin of Turkey, Geological Engineering, the Earth and Human journals. He concentrated his efforts on the topics related to the study of the Ophiolites, Regional Geology and Tectonics. During these works, he leaded at first, on preparation of geological maps at 1/25. 000 scale for the Sivas region. These maps are still used as basic references in applications related to Geology and Environment in Sivas. He became associate professor in 1987.
